DV for Teachers

Don’t know much about videoconferencing

Don’t know much about videoconferencing David asked me about H.323 videoconferencing. I can offer no help at all, I’m afraid. If others can, send me a message or find David at Serious Instructional Technology.

The ITC has tried some of the inexpensive forms of videoconferencing (we’re training public school teachers here – how many public schools have a dedicated ISDN line for this?), and none seem viable yet. If you hear otherwise, ask many specific questions, and if you come away convinced, send email, launch rockets, and alert the media. Otherwise, stay away.

My head is much better, thanks Today was day three of the DV workshop, and I learned much I didn’t know already about compressing video for the web, CD, and eventually DVD. I also learned some interesting interactive possibilities that could spruce up web-based learning…. I’m not being coy, but I don’t have time to give more details tonight. Next week.
