Skype-ing with Bill Dotson

Just finished a Skype video call with Bill Dotson and his class at University of Virginia at Wise. Bill is an Education Technology instructor there, teaching teachers and students more about using technology in the classroom. We talked about some of the possibilities of Skype and other free software, about blogs and wikis, and a little about sports. It was a good peek at what we can do with tools like this in the classroom.

I really enjoyed the presentation you and Mr. Dotson put together demonstrating Skype. This is a piece of free software that I plan on sharing with my 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. I plan on contacting some of our state representatives to see about them talking to us by using Skype.

It was a very good experience for my students in Educational Technology 330 here in Wise VA. They were amazed at the capabilities of Skype and its possibilities in the classroom. We appreciate Tim and the presentation he provided.
